The charging infrastructure is optimised to your individual needs. Mercedes-Benz therefore offers a high degree of flexibility. Conveniently and quickly at home using a Wallbox? En route at public charging stations? At a conventional socket checked by an electrician? All this is possible - for maximum charging convenience.

Fully charge the EQC while relaxing on the sofa – the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox Home makes it possible. With a charging capacity of 7.4 kW you can charge the EQC up to three times quicker than at a conventional household socket.

No matter where you are: you can charge up the EQC at countless public AC and DC charging stations, You can charge your vehicle at public AC charging stations using the standard charging cable with a charging capacity of 7.4 kW while you are shopping, at work or at a restaurant, for example. Activation and payment are handled simply via Mercedes me Charge*.

Mercedes me Charge* provides access to a wealth of public charging stations all over Europe, located in down-town areas and in such places as shopping centres, hotels or at motorway services. In the Mercedes me App, you can call up the precise location, current availability and price at the selected charging station, for example. The vehicle's navigation system is also provided with these data, enabling it to adapt its route guidance accordingly. Authentication at the charging station takes place via the media display, the Mercedes me App or the Mercedes me Charge card. Everything else is handled automatically through Mercedes me Charge. One contract, one invoice per country region.

For relaxed long-distance trips, you can also charge up the EQC at all compatible rapid charging stations. With Mercedes me Charge, you also enjoy access to the high-power charging network IONITY*, which is developing DC rapid charging stations (direct current) along all major European transport routes.

At these high-power chargers the average non-operational time is reduced to the duration of a coffee break. The IONITY network relies on the European Combined Charging System (CCS) charging standard.

* To use the Mercedes me Charge incl. IONITY services, you must register on the Mercedes me Portal and also accept the Terms of Use for the Mercedes me connect services. An additional registration at the Mercedes me Charge User Portal is also required, the payment information must be entered and the vehicle concerned must be linked to the user account. Standardised charging and billing solutions in compliance with the relevant weights and measures regulations are not currently available nationwide in Germany. In isolated cases, this may lead to discrepancies between the amount of electricity charged and the amount billed by the mobility service provider, for example. The high-voltage battery is the centre piece of the new Mercedes-Benz EQC. Thanks to its extremely high power density, it saves energy for the two electric drive units on the front and rear axle. The battery is installed in the vehicle floor in order to fulfil the high Mercedes-Benz safety requirements. This also lowers the vehicle's centre of gravity, thus ensuring a richly dynamic driving feeling.

    • Real electric range

      Why is the real electric range often less than specified?

      The electric range varies depending on individual driving behaviour, the route profile and the environmental factors. You can travel on electric power further if you use ECO Assist to drive with foresight and take advantage of the recuperation and/or sailing function. Auxiliary equipment such as seat heating or climate control system also has an impact on the range.

    • AC and DC charging technology

      What is the difference between AC and DC charging technology?

      Basically, the batteries of electrified vehicles can only be charged with direct current (DC). However, all household power sockets, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox charger and most public charging stations supply alternating current (AC), as do "high-voltage sockets". To make charging possible, vehicles are equipped with an on-board charger – an AC/DC rectifier. It converts the alternating current into the required direct current. Charging capacities of between 2.3 kW and 7.4 kW are possible – depending on the on-board charger and the capacity of the charging cable.

    • Environmental friendliness

      How environmentally friendly are electric cars really?

      How environmentally friendly the vehicle is used depends greatly on your driving and charging behaviour. Among other things, the electricity you charge the vehicle with also plays a significant role, i.e.: is it actually being charged with "green" electricity or an energy mix? Many public charging stations are supplied with green electricity, and a green electricity contract for domestic users is often only a few clicks away.
