The future of mobility is electric. In partnership with the German government, Mercedes-Benz is therefore taking part in an incentive scheme to encourage the purchase of new battery-only electric and fuel cell vehicles and new plug-in hybrid vehicles. The green bonus is worth up to 4000 euros for all-electric vehicles and 3000 euros for plug-in hybrids. To qualify, the net list price for the basic model of the electric vehicle must be less than 60,000 euros. The environmental bonus is funded 50/50 by the German government and the automotive industry.

Private individuals, businesses, foundations, corporate entities and associations in whose name a new vehicle is registered are eligible.

The green bonus is currently available for new models of the following Mercedes-Benz vehicles:

  • B-Class: B 250 e

  • C-Class Saloon and Estate: C 350 e

  • E-Class Saloon: E 350 e

When will the green bonus be available till and how do I get it?

The green bonus entitles you to a rebate of up to 4000 euros when purchasing an electric vehicle.

When will the green bonus be available till and how do I get it?

The rebate will remain in place until the federal funds set aside for the scheme – 600,000,000 euros in total – have been used up or until 2019 at the latest.

When purchasing an eligible new Mercedes-Benz, the purchase price is reduced by the relevant total of 1500 euros or 2000 euros – in other words the manufacturer's share – and documented in the purchase agreement. You then have to apply to the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) for payment of the other half of the green bonus.
